Detroit (October 9, 2014) – Detroit Driven, a new nonprofit organization, has recently named Senator Tupac A. Hunter (Detroit) to be its Executive Director.
“We expect that the impact of our campaign will help to accelerate the infusion of capital investment, the creation of new jobs, and the burgeoning of a pervasive spirit of entrepreneurism in Detroit” said Senator Hunter. “Our aim is to show and prove to the rest of the state, the nation, and the world that Detroit is poised to be among the greatest comeback stories in modern American history.”
Detroit Driven has been created to engage in a public relations and advocacy campaign, which will tell the many success stories that are breathing new life into the city. The campaign will leverage grassroots techniques, high-quality content messaging, and uplifting themes and utilize a full gamut of media platforms in order to reach and inspire its target audiences.
“Organizations like Detroit Driven are helping tell the stories of the people working to turn Detroit around and why Detroit matters to Michigan and the nation,” said Michigan Governor Rick Snyder. “I applaud their work and those who have stepped forward to help us all revive this great American city.”
Senator Hunter will serve in a volunteer capacity while he completes his final term in the Michigan Senate. He will work closely with the board of directors to help develop, execute, and manage the strategic plans of the organization.
“Entrepreneurs are playing an increasingly significant role in our city’s ongoing revitalization. We are very fortunate to have organizations like Detroit Driven to tell their stories to the world,” said Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan.
